2023 Thibaud Boudignon Rosé
Rosé de Loire from Thibaud Boudignon, a rising star in the Loire Valley. This dry rosé is crafted from 90% Cabernet Franc and 10% Grolleau sourced from 30+ year old vines in Lys Haut Layon. The vines are grown biodynamically in shallow soils of grey schist, rhyolite (volcanic), and clay, with variable topsoil depth of 10-15cm before reaching mother rock. Made as a direct press rosé using indigenous yeast, the wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel without malolactic fermentation, preserving its salinity and structure. Rosé de Loire is an official appellation for still, fresh, dry rosé wines made in the Loire Valley in western France.
