2024 A & JF Ganevat Vin de France Rouge "La Croix des Batailles” NV
This unique red wine is based on an original blend of Gamay with a touch of Chardonnay, a true stylistic choice that brings freshness and texture. On the nose, the aromatic expression is immediate and charming, dominated by notes of fresh red fruits including cherry, strawberry, and raspberry. The addition of Chardonnay translates into a sensation of freshness and tension. The wine possesses a cherry/dark cherry colored robe. On the palate, the attack is juicy, round and refreshing. The wine stands out for its great digestibility and natural balance. The tannins are very fine, almost imperceptible, allowing the fruit to express itself freely. The acidity is well integrated and supports the wine's dynamic. The finish is fresh, clean, and particularly thirst-quenching, with a hint of salinity. Produced through biodynamic practices with minimal intervention to preserve natural expression. Jean-François Ganevat returned to Jura in the late 1990s after working in Burgundy at Jean-Marc Morey's, where he has become renowned for his wines with strong personality. The domaine produces approximately 40,000 bottles annually. It is recommended to decant or aerate the wine to release any CO2 that may be present in the bottle, and is best served at 15-16°C. The wine can be enjoyed today for its vibrant fruit and energy but will also evolve in the short term.
