2024 Casale del Giglio Bellone

Bellone is an ancient grape variety of the Lazio region, cited by Pliny the Elder as 'Uva Pantastica' and cultivated since Roman times. Nearly wiped out by phylloxera, it has been revived as Lazio's highest quality white grape. Today it is grown from the Roman to the Lepini Hills and the coastal town of Anzio, where warm sandy soils and persistent sea breezes create an ideal microclimate. The variety produces deep golden wines characterized by pronounced acidity and zesty minerality, with the structure for long bottle aging.
