2024 Jakue Txakolina Rosado

A rosé txakoli from Talai Berri in the Basque region of Spain, produced in the charming fishing village of Zarautz within the Getariako Txakolina DOC. Made from equal parts indigenous varietals Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza. Red grapes make up a very small percentage of those grown in the Txakolina DOC, and rosés make up an even smaller percentage. The hand-harvested grapes are sorted, de-stemmed, crushed, and allowed to macerate for a few hours before cool fermentation at a maximum of 16°C. The resulting wine displays the distinctive spritzy character typical of txakoli, with a fine pearl of spritz on the tongue.
