2024 Jolie-Laide Glou d'Etat Red Wine
Glou d'Etat is a light-bodied California red from Sebastopol-based micro-producers Scott and Jenny Schultz of Jolie-Laide, who farm organically across Northern California and produce just 3,000 cases annually. The rotating blend typically features Valdiguié, Mourvèdre, Grenache, and lesser-known varieties like Cinsault, Gamay, and Cabernet Pfeffer. Made using whole-cluster carbonic maceration in neutral oak, then foot-crushed to complete fermentation, resulting in bright aromatics, soft tannins, and a low-tannin profile at 11.8% ABV. This glou glou style wine is designed to be served lightly chilled and consumed young.
