2024 Káli Kövek Kalamona
Kalamona is named after a three-headed dragon from Hungarian fairytales, with each head representing one of the three grape varieties in this blend: Furmint, Juhfark, and Olaszrizling. The fruit is hand-picked from the extinct volcano of Somló, located about 45 minutes north of Köveskál. Spontaneously fermented and aged for 7 months in Hungarian oak barrels, this volcanic white wine features zero maceration, zero botrytis, and is mostly free-run juice, resulting in a salty and electric expression of its volcanic terroir.
