2024 Lapierre Morgon N

Marcel Lapierre’s Morgon is produced exclusively from Gamay grapes grown in biodynamically managed vineyards in Morgon, Beaujolais. The winemaking employs minimal intervention techniques, with fermentation relying on wild yeasts and, in some cases, a non‐sulphited approach (denoted as Cuvee “N” – Sans Soufre). The wine is aged in oak for several months without fining or filtration, and certain vintages include selections from first and third pickings. This production process, associated with the estate’s long‐standing heritage (including early collaborations with Jules Chauvet) and recognized for its Triple “A” standards, reflects the unique terroir of Morgon while adhering to traditional, natural winemaking principles.

Harvest

Grapes are processed using traditional Beaujolais semi‐carbonic maceration (10–21 days).

Fermentation

Indigenous fermentation is conducted with wild yeasts and limited yeast intervention, all executed without added sulfur (no SO2).

Aging

The wine undergoes oaked maturation—either in 216‑liter barrels for approximately 9 months or with oak contact for 2–9 months—and is aged on fine lees in old Burgundy barrels before bottling unfiltered with low or no added sulfites.
