2024 Lapierre Raisins Gaulois

Raisins Gaulois (“Gallic Grapes”) is a Gamay‐based Vin de France that unites both traditional and modern vineyard practices. The wine is produced from young vines cultivated for extended yields alongside grapes sourced from older vineyards—with some blocks averaging 45 years of age and planted on decomposed granite soils. The vineyard strategy includes organic practices and meticulous, hand‐harvested picking at optimal ripeness; in some expressions, the blend is composed almost entirely of fruit from the cru of Morgon with a minor proportion from A.O.C. Beaujolais. Winemaking is approached with minimal intervention: the grapes undergo carbonic maceration for two months in cuve and are bottled unfiltered with a screw cap, with no added sulfur. This integrated methodology highlights the estate’s commitment to terroir‐driven precision and traditional Gaulish inspiration.
