2024 Occhipinti Rosso SP68

Occhipinti SP68 Rosso is named after the Strada Provinciale 68 that runs through Arianna Occhipinti's original vineyard in Vittoria, Sicily. This organic and biodynamic red wine is a blend of 70% Frappato and 30% Nero d'Avola, a flipped version of the traditional Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOC proportions. The wine is produced from vineyards with medium-consistency soil composed of sub-Apennine calcareous sands and red sand with chalk. Designed as a young, everyday wine compared to the estate's Grotte Alte, it showcases Arianna's intuitive and elegant winemaking approach following traditional Sicilian methods passed down from her uncle, Giusto Occhipinti.
