2024 Stamnaki Assyrtiko

100% Assyrtiko grown on the mainland in the mountainous region of Peloponnese, where the variety expresses itself differently than island-grown versions due to its more sheltered continental environment. Part of the Stamnaki ("wine jug" in Greek) label from Denthis, an import/coop collaboration focusing on rebuilding Greece's indigenous wine culture abroad through simple and honest vinifications by small family wineries. This mainland expression is less saline and more fruit-driven than its island counterparts, offering a friendlier, more approachable take on Greece's noble Assyrtiko grape while maintaining the variety's characteristic structured acidity and subtle mineral undertones. The hot days, cool nights, and ample sea breeze of the Peloponnese peninsula create ideal conditions for fresh wines with vibrant acidity.
