2025 Chai de la Dive Saumur Rouge Les Moulins
Chai de la Dive is a négociant project founded by Romain Guiberteau, Brendan Stater West, Alex Crochet, and Arnaud Laplanche, initially created for vineyards undergoing organic certification and now serving as an entry-level Cabernet Franc. The wine features purchased grapes from trusted neighbors alongside fruit from young vines (10-25 years old) from the Domaine, sourced from multiple sites in Berrie, Brézé, and Montreuil-Bellay. Terroirs include clay-sand and sandy-clay soils over Turonian and Jurassic limestone at varying elevations and aspects. Grapes are pressed delicately, matured in concrete and steel, and bottled after approximately six months at Domaine Guiberteau. This collaboration allows focus on earlier-release, accessible wines while associated domaines concentrate on age-worthy bottlings.
