2025 Cremisan Cellars Al Jather Red

Produced by Cremisan Winery, established in 1885 on the West Bank near Jerusalem, from the indigenous Baladi Aswad grape. Head winemaker Fadi Batarseh resurrected this native Palestinian variety, one of 21 distinct native grape genomes identified through groundbreaking research. Grapes are sourced from estate vineyards and local farmers in the Bethlehem, Hebron, and al-Khader regions, cultivated organically on historic terraced hillsides. Hand-harvested during cool hours and vinified without added sulfites using wild native yeasts. Fermented on skins and seeds, then aged 6 months in neutral oak barrels. The winery continues its humanitarian mission supporting the local community.
