2025 Domaine Comte Abbatucci Ile de Beauté Rouge "Faustine"

A superb Corsican red wine from Domaine Comte Abbatucci, crafted from indigenous grape varieties grown on old vines planted on granite sand hillsides in the heart of the Taravo Valley. This authentic and vibrant wine expresses the unique terroir of Corsica with exceptional aromatic complexity. The wine displays a deep cherry robe with ruby highlights and reveals aromas of fresh red fruits, cherry, raspberry and wild berries, accompanied by characteristic notes of myrtle and immortelle from the island's maquis scrubland, along with delicate touches of pepper and sweet spices. The palate is ample, fresh and harmonious, with fruit dominating with much brilliance, supported by fine and silky tannins. The finish is long, fresh and intensely fruity. A brilliant expression of Corsican winemaking that captures the distinctive personality of this renowned estate and its native varietals.

Work entirely focused on respecting living organisms and faithful expression of terroir.

Harvest

Manual harvesting at over-ripeness with small yields, grapes received by gravity after destemming without crushing

Aging

6 months in stainless steel tanks on fine lees to preserve fruit purity and varietal identity, assembly before bottling after light clarification
