2025 Les Lunes Chardonnay Sonoma Mountain
The 11-acre Nirenstein Vineyard on Sonoma Mountain AVA was planted in 2005 to the old Wente/Clone 4 selection, known for high natural acidity. The vineyard sits at 800 feet elevation with a north-eastern aspect on basalt and chalky rhyolite soils with gravelly, clay loam texture, allowing for slow, moderate ripening. The site produces fruit with high natural acidity, which is expressive and shows vibrant pineapple and tropical aromatics. There is a balanced mouthfeel between the expressive fruit and acidity, creating a lovely finish. This wine tastes lively now and should age gracefully.
